This is so cool being able to drive. If I wanted to go somewhere before now, I had to ask my parents and get them to come along with me. Now that I'm 16 with my license, I just get in my car and GO. No more waiting for them anymore. It is very nice =]
If I were a bird, I'd fly... far, far away...to California!

Well, Eric and I played our duet. She said, "Very excellent job! The only thing I would say about it is the dynamics in the piano section, but other than that, great!" Sweeeeet. Maybe that means we'll get a 1? And a medal? =]

Yay! Finally Friday!... but not without burden. I have to type up the first draft on my persuasive English essay, the topic being "Violence in Computer Gaming." I've got my outline all typed out, so it shouldn't be too hard to type the essay up. Then I gotta study for two tests: a Spanish test and History test, both of which of proving themselves to be hard.
I also have Solo and Ensemble competition tomorrow. I was gonna play a solo, but I didn't have enough time to work on it so decided not to. I am doing a duet with my friend Eric Fancher, and now that I'm 16, I'm going to go pick him up. We gotta be at John Carroll HS at 8am to warm up and practice some before we play between 8:30am-9:00am. I'll post the results tomorrow.

Ok, well in light of my bad day, I decided to do some chick hunting and go ahead and format my new pictorial layout to go with my new site layout. So, you are seeing a little bit of a preview of the new site to come this summer. The chick I did a pictorial on this week is Jessica Alba. I did a pictorial on her long ago when I was doing pictorials on here, but there are new pictures this time. You can find the entire list of pictorials, including Jessica Alba, in my Pictorials section.
Well, how do I begin to describe the worst day of my life?
I went to take my driver's test since I turned 16 today, and I saw my friend Chris Euwing there and we were getting all built up about it and everything. I waited around for about 45 minutes then it was my turn. I forgot to do the stupid 10-2 hand position on the steering wheel, and I messed up my 3-point turn, so I failed that. No driver's license for me.
Next up, I go to school, and before I was about to get checked in, I went to the band room to check to see what band I made (this is around 11:23). Ms. White said the results weren't up, so my Mom agreed to take me home since I was in a bad mood about my driver's test. Later on, I get a call from Mr. Carroll (he's one of the band directors, and my next door neighbor), and he says I made First Edition Jazz Band (the top jazz band). I was like "SWEET!" But what about symphonic? "Oh, I'm sorry Aaron, you made 1st chair 1st Concert Band for the 3rd time in a row in high school." WTF is that crap?!?!? I am more than good enough to be in symphonic. Grrrrrrrr this is so much bs.
Next up, I find out our head director, Mr. Morrow, has decided to take up a job with the Hoover Board of Education, so his paycheck will be two times as big as it is now. This is total crap. He has been our leader, and the best guy I know for shows, direction, etc. And now he just leaves. WTF?? Who is gonna replace him? This is jacked-shi0t man. He did agree to help us with our Macy's Parade drill for next fall and go to NYC with us, but that is crap too. Who is gonna do our marching show? AHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
Then, tonight was the Watch Night service at church. I knew we (the church orchestra) had to play, but wthe song we were playing was unimportant and I was just background. WHOOPS AGAIN! The song we're playing is the one where I have a damned solo, so I had to haul ass to Hoover High at 5:45 PM, get one of the administrators to open the band room, and get my sax out, and be back at church by 6:00 PM. Luckily, Hoover High is like 5 minutes from my church so I got back just in time.
All in all, this day has TOTALLY sucked. I am going back for my driver's license tomorrow, and if I don't make it........ =[

Well, we had our band concert tonight. Our school has three bands: Concert 2, Concert 1, and Symphonic (Symphonic is the best one). I'm in Concert 1. Man, we got 0WNED by Symphonic band. They play Rhapsody in Blue, and some stuff from Pictures at an Exhibition. It was elite, Concert 1 and Concert 2 couldn't touch them. In one of our songs, Marriage of Figaro, close to the end there's a part for our section (alto saxes) that's a really fast up and down run, and we were all supposed to play it. Out of a section of 5, only I played it. I guess the rest of them chickened out, I don't know what the deal was. Oh well, the concert rocked. It just makes me want to be in Symphonic Band ever more next year :) Kudos to all the bands for great performances, and to Hudson on her great French Horn solo. =]

Man, this sucks. I told my mom my History teacher wanted me to take IB classes (she is the IB coordinator), and I am kinda second-thinking it. For one, it will be super hard. If I do IB, I will have to give up AP Music Theory next year, and in my Senior year, the only band class I was have it Symphonic band. No jazz band. That's stupid, I've been waiting my Freshman and Sophomore years so I could finally take jazz band, and now I'll only get to take it one year. Whenever I tell my mom I don't want to take IB, she gets this snuffy tone like "Ok Aaron, whatever you wanna do, it's your life, but if you don't take IB you're going to an in-state college." She is like incriminating me if I don't take IB, but I want to take music classes so bad, cause that's where all my friends are. =[ I don't know what to do...
Yay....another Monday. I got the HHS Jazz Band CD...it is, needless to say, elite. The only flaw is that Geno is dragging on Coconut Champagne...other than that it's good. Oh yeah, if you want to see an extremely hot girl that's 18 and in high school, I suggest you drop by 5ilver.net.
